What I do

I have a wealth of experience treating people across the lifespan and of many backgrounds.

  • Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations

  • Medications

Medications can be a helpful—and sometimes essential—aspect of mental health treatment. That said, for a variety of reasons they might not be for everyone. I often work with people who have the desire to consolidate, reduce, or taper off of their medications completely.

  • Psychotherapy

Specifically, I practice psychodynamic therapy, an in-depth talk therapy that can successfully and long-lastingly treat many psychiatric conditions with or without concurrent medication treatment.

For younger people this is usually based in play, and might also involve integrated therapeutic work with parents/guardians.

When I am treating with medications I ideally like to combine with therapy, but we will determine what works best for you. If you are already working with a therapist, I’ll be glad to collaborate with them.

  • Second opinions

  • Consultations with clinicians such as therapists, primary care doctors, pediatricians, psychiatrists-in-training, other specialists

  • Consulting on how to build a private psychiatry practice
